Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dantae Funete!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Funete throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ramos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Funete tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ramos is in Funete's guard.
Funete has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ramos has passed into side control.
Funete tries to buck Ramos off but Ramos is having none of it.
Ramos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Funete keeps working.
Funete is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ramos has hold of Funete's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Funete seems comfortable defending it but Ramos has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Funete is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Funete is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ramos couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mark Ramos!
Mark Ramos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
