These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert gets caught flat footed, as Arlowski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Arlowski connects with a couple of short punches.
Arlowski works over Gilbert with some ground and pound from guard.
Arlowski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gilbert might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Arlowski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arlowski scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Gilbert is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Arlowski can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
