Singh is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Check it out. Shield has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Arshad Singh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sam Shield's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Singh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Shield's half guard.
Shield is breathing heavily.
Singh thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shield's head.
Singh wants to pass the guard but Shield is defending well.
Singh content to control rather than advance.
Shield taking some punishment here, with Singh in his half guard.
Shield is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Singh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Singh is pressing down on Shield's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shield is holding on for now.
Shield wants to get back to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Arshad Singh hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Shield takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Singh motions for Shield to come forward. Singh throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shield tries a head kick but it misses.

Singh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shield manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Singh won't allow Shield to sweep him here.

Singh wants to pass the guard but Shield is keeping the position.
Singh's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Singh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shield swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Singh wants to control from the top but Shield keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Arshad Singh.
Singh lands a jab.

Singh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shield takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A head kick by Shield misses
and Singh counters with a right hand to the body.
Good shot there by Singh.
Singh looks to land a body kick but Shield moved away.
