Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Newnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Brennan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newnes wants to clinch up but Brennan keeps it at a distance.
Brennan lands the left hand.
Newnes's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Newnes duly obliges.


It looks like Gary Brennan has been cut.
Brennan shoots in for a takedown but Newnes shows good takedown defense.
Brennan shoots for a double leg takedown but Newnes sprawls well. He's pushed Brennan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Newnes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brennan circles away.

Newnes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brennan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Newnes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brennan just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brennan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Newnes's waist but Newnes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brennan off to one side.

That's time! Newnes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Brennan shoots in but Newnes avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Newnes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gary Brennan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Craig Newnes.
Well Brennan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
