Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Skeletor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekko Persvako! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Persvako slips a jab and a cross from Skeletor.
Persvako should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Persvako drives through with a takedown into guard. Persvako wants to pass the guard but Skeletor is keeping the position. Persvako thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Persvako controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Persvako stopping the sweep attempt from Skeletor. Persvako wants to pass the guard but Skeletor is keeping the position. Skeletor looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Persvako content to stall in guard here. Persvako must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Persvako drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Skeletor dives on top into guard. Persvako is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Skeletor pushes down on Persvako's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Persvako looks gassed! Persvako tries to lock up and control but Skeletor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Persvako has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Persvako prevents Skeletor from getting a body triangle. I really don't envy Persvako right now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Persvako looking to pass the guard. Skeletor is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Persvako closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Persvako lands in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skeletor is trying to control the position but Persvako postures up. Persvako advances to half guard. Skeletor wants to improve his position but Persvako is controlling well.
Persvako is keen to just control but Skeletor is a slippery customer. Persvako looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Persvako wants to pass the guard but Skeletor is keeping the position. Skeletor lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Persvako!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skeletor trying to control but he's not successful this time. Persvako is working to get back to half guard.
Skeletor thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Persvako is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Persvako tries to reverse the position but Skeletor maintains control. Persvako looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Skeletor is looking to control Persvako but Persvako is wriggling around and keeping busy. Skeletor gets his hands free as Persvako looks to control. Skeletor tries to get the hooks in deep but Persvako pushed the leg off. Skeletor working for the choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mikko Skeletor will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Persvako has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skeletor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Persvako keeping moving, preventing Skeletor from controlling successfully. Persvako isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Skeletor stacks Persvako on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Skeletor! Skeletor is looking to take a break and control but Persvako is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Persvako is breathing heavily. Persvako is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skeletor tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Persvako is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Skeletor wants to control but Persvako is keeping him busy.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Skeletor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Persvako counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Persvako pushes down on Skeletor's leg and manages to get into half guard. Skeletor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Persvako is working away from the top position though. Persvako is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Skeletor! Skeletor's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Skeletor is squirming around, avoiding Persvako's attempts to control the action.
