7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Jefferson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon McBacon! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from McBacon. Jefferson gets a double leg takedown into McBacon's guard. Jefferson throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McBacon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. McBacon wants to sweep but no luck. Jefferson trying to control but McBacon is working from the bottom. Jefferson throws a big right hand that misses. Jefferson throwing strikes but missing. Jefferson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jeffersonis looking to pass into half guard but McBacon pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McBacon is in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson keeping moving, preventing McBacon from controlling successfully. Jefferson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jefferson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jefferson has momentary wrist control but McBacon slips an elbow through the middle. McBacon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jefferson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jefferson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McBacon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McBacon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jefferson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McBacon. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McBacon trying to control the position from guard on top but Jefferson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jefferson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jefferson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! McBacon has his hands clasped together but Jefferson extends an breaks McBacon's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jefferson.
