Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davey Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Junior Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Davey Al!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Al closes the distance and pushes Dos Santos back into the cage.
Dos Santos is trying to break the clinch but Al is controlling him.
Al has Dos Santos pushed against the cage.

Al jumps guard.
Al pulls Dos Santos in close to his closed guard and prevents Dos Santos from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dos Santos wanted to stand there but Al had control of the position.
Al lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dos Santos!
Dos Santos is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Al lands a big shot there that rocks Dos Santos but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Al lands a nice shot to the head.
Al wants to control the pace but Dos Santos is squirming around nicely.

Al is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Dos Santos knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Dos Santos for a finish.

Al is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Al gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Al gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Al apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Al drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Davey Al hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Al gets control of Dos Santos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Al will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dos Santos is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Al is looking to take a break and control but Dos Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Al takes a little break here. Dos Santos wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dos Santos bucks up and tries to throw Al off but instead Al has got his back!

I would not like to be Dos Santos right now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Al drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dos Santos is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Al has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dos Santos is trying to escape the position but Al is controlling the position.
Al wants to control but Dos Santos is keeping him busy.
Dos Santos is pushing Al's head away, looking to escape. Al manages to hold on to the position though.

Al tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Check out the look on Al's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Al moves out of range of the strikes.
A combination from Dos Santos does no damage.

Al closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dos Santos's guard.

Al stands and steps away. Dos Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Al shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Al showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Al tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dos Santos knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Al is trying to control. Dos Santos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dos Santos wants to stand back up but Al manages to pass into side control.
Al passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Dos Santos!
Dos Santos is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Al is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dos Santos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Dos Santos's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Al can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dos Santos is looking to escape.

Davey Al comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Al has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
