Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corliss Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Snuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snuka has chosen Missy Elliot - The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) as his entrance music. Corliss Johnson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Snuka! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Snuka does no damage. Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Snuka. No joy for Johnson on that attempt. Snuka tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Snuka lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Johnson sprawling to the canvas. Snuka follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Johnson hang on?
Johnson is rocked! Johnson regains full guard. Nicely done. Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Johnson stays in close to Snuka's body and controls the position. Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.

Johnson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Snuka for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Corliss Johnson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Snuka moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Snuka manages to break the clinch.

Snuka throws a nice outside leg kick. Johnson shoots in and drives through. Snuka sprawls well. Snuka throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Snuka, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Snuka against the cage but Snuka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corliss Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Snuka tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Snuka as he avoids it easily. Johnson is breathing heavily.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson stalling. Johnson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Johnson works his way into full mount! Johnson controlling from the full mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jimmy Snuka will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Snuka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Snuka tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Snuka moves into the clinch. Johnson tries for a takedown but Snuka manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corliss Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Snuka is trying to break free. Johnson is working for takedown but Snuka is calmly controlling the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snuka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Corliss Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Snuka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson. Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
