The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Torres duly obliges.
Torres looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Torres, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Torres throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manabu's waist but Manabu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Torres off to one side.
Torres throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Torres tries to close the distance and clinch up but Manabu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Maricio Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Manabu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Torres to the ground. Manabu is now in Torres's guard.

Torres looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Manabu has picked Torres up and slammed him! Torres can't keep hold of the triangle and Manabu manages to pass to side control!
Torres is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Manabu asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Manabu is looking to take a break and control but Torres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Manabu has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Manabu has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Torres's face.

It looks like Maricio Torres has been cut.
Torres is in all sorts of trouble here.
Manabu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Torres tries to control the position but Manabu now has his back.
Torres is trying to stand back up.
Torres looks gassed!

Manabu is cranking Torres's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Torres! He's tightened the choke and Torres is tapping out!
