Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thorstein Horgmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushi Sushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorstein Horgmo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushi Sushi !
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sushi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sushi shoots in looking for a takedown. Horgmo tries to sprawl out of it but Sushi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Horgmo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horgmo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sushi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Horgmo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Horgmo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sushi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Horgmo stands and steps away. Sushi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sushi wants to hold on but Horgmo pushes him away.
Horgmo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sushi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sushi shrugs it off.
Horgmo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sushi has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sushi is looking to get to half guard.
Horgmo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sushi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sushi and Horgmo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Horgmo is working for an americana but Sushi has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Horgmo was thinking about the submission.
Horgmo is breathing heavily.

Sushi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Horgmo is aware though and is defending well.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Thorstein Horgmo wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sushi shoots in looking for a takedown but Horgmo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sushi 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Horgmo closes the distance and clinches up with Sushi , looking for a takedown. Horgmo pushes Sushi against the cage but Sushi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Horgmo explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Sushi takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Horgmo throws a lazy right hand but Sushi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Thorstein Horgmo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sushi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Horgmo.
Sushi is looking to clinch but Horgmo is avoiding it.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sushi is trying to break free.
Horgmo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sushi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sushi is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Horgmo off. It looks like it's working - Horgmo slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Sushi displaying calm under pressure there.

and Sushi counters with a series of strikes. Horgmo will be more careful next time no doubt.

Sushi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Horgmo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Horgmo is staying active underneath Sushi , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sushi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Horgmo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Horgmo's back!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sushi is just content to waste time from the top position. Horgmo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Sushi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Horgmo as he avoids it easily.

and Horgmo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sushi won't be happy with that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sushi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Horgmo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sushi is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Horgmo is staying active.

Horgmo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Horgmo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Horgmo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Sushi is trying to control but can't.

Horgmo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sushi is just riding it out for now. Horgmo eventually gives up the hold.

Well Horgmo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
