Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Branco Helio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyoto Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Branco Helio!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida gets a double leg takedown into Helio's guard.
Helio preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Machida looking to pass the guard.
Machida trying to control but Helio is working from the bottom.
Helio looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Helio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Machida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Machida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Helio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Machida defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida trying to control the position from guard on top but Helio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Machida looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Machida trying to control but Helio is working from the bottom.
Machida throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Machida is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Lyoto Machida just wasn't active enough.
Machida lands a jab-cross combination.
Helio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Machida counters with a nice kick to the body.
Helio tries to keep at a distance but Machida has taken the fight into the clinch.
Helio tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Helio fails to pull guard.
Lyoto Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Branco Helio.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Machida is pushing Helio up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Machida pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Helio fails with the takedown
and Machida holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Helio fails to pull guard.
Machida escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for Machida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Helio shoots and misses
and Machida counters with a big head kick but Helio shrugs it off.
Helio looks gassed!
Machida closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Helio did well to prevent Machida getting side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Machida trying to control the action but Helio is working from the bottom.
Machida is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Helio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Machida.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machida decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Machida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lyoto Machida dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Machida feints a jab promting Helio to slip. Machida then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Helio slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Helio gets caught flat footed, as Machida shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Helio is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Machida rolls with it to try and escape but Helio cranks on the arm and Machida is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Branco Helio!
