Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Paglia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Satan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Satan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nicholas Paglia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nathan Satan!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paglia wants to clinch up but Satan keeps it at a distance.
Paglia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Satan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Paglia's guard.
Satan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Paglia tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Satan trying to control the position but Paglia is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Satan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Paglia, who protects the arm well.

Satan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Satan working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Satan tries to advance to mount but Paglia denies him.

Satan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Satan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Paglia is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paglia can't do much from the bottom here.

Satan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Satan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Satan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Satan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paglia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Paglia tries to bench press Satan off him but Satan keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Satan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Satan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Paglia has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Satan but great work by Paglia.
Satan is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Satan sneaks out the side door and pushes Paglia away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Paglia doesn't manage to clinch there - Satan circles away.
Paglia throws out a leg kick but Satan moves out of range and Paglia only half commits.
Satan blocks a head kick by Paglia.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Satan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Paglia can't do much from the bottom here.

Satan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paglia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paglia bucks up and tries to throw Satan off but instead Satan has got his back!
Paglia is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Satan wants to control but Paglia is keeping busy.
Well, with Satan on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Paglia is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Satan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Paglia has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Satan dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Paglia with a lazy takedown attempt

and Satan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paglia's guard now.
Satan trying to control but Paglia is working from the bottom.
Satan wants to pass the guard but Paglia is keeping the position.
Satan passes into half guard.

Satan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Paglia sees it coming and defends easily.
Paglia is not content to let Satan control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Satan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Paglia wants to get back to full guard.
Paglia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Satan on the ground.
Paglia is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Satan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Satan quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Satan but it's paid off an Paglia is forced to tap! Nice work by Satan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nathan Satan!
