Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shogun BDown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zaur Gubiev!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gubiev misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from BDown.
Gubiev throws a hook to the side of BDown's head but BDown sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
BDown misses with a kick to the body.
Gubiev looks to land a left hand but BDown moved out of range nicely.
Gubiev avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by BDown.
No luck for Gubiev with that takedown attempt.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gubiev has eaten all the pies!
BDown fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gubiev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? BDown is fending him off so far but Gubiev persists. Nope, BDown circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed right hand from Gubiev misses the target.
BDown closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A short left from BDown.
That's one minute gone in the round.
BDown lands a shoulder strike.
BDown makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
BDown scores with a nice hook to the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Gubiev wants a takedown.
Shogun BDown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zaur Gubiev.
BDown drops Gubiev onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Gubiev is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Gubiev is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
BDown manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Gubiev is still on wobbly legs! Can BDown finish him?
Gubiev seems to have recovered his senses.
BDown lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A short body shot lands from BDown as the two fighters clinch.
Gubiev looks gassed!
BDown makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

BDown slowing the pace effectively.

BDown pushes off and lands a massive hook that knocks Gubiev out cold! The fight is all over!
