The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desjardins misses the shot to the body.

and Jacare counters with a two punch combo.

Jacare bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Desjardins struggling a bit here.
Jacare tries to move into full mount but can't pass Desjardins's legs.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Desjardins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Desjardins is looking to regain half guard here but Jacare keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacare is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Desjardins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jacare is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Desjardins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jacare has an Americana. Desjardins didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jacare is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jacare hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
