Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny T (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Hazlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). T's entrance music is Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers - Born to Lose . A fine choice. Hazlett is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Crank that Travis Barker Remix. Dustin Hazlett acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny T! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Hazlett! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! T misses with a takedown attempt - Hazlett sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hazlett throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
T has a takedown stuffed. T tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hazlett swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny T. That's going to take a lot out of him. T shoots in looking for a takedown. Hazlett tries to sprawl out of it but T keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hazlett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hazlett scores with a takedown into T's guard. Hazlett sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hazlett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. T working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hazlett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hazlett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hazlett's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round. T is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. T keeping moving, preventing Hazlett from controlling successfully. Hazlett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hazlett is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hazlett in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hazlett lands a couple of digs. Hazlett wants to control from the top but T keeps moving. Hazlett is pushing down on T's leg trying to pass to half guard. T is fighting to maintain full guard but Hazlett has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hazlett is trying to control the action in half guard but T is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. T trying to hold on to Hazlett's head to control him but Hazlett postures up.
Hazlett is trying to work for a kimura but T is defending well.
Hazlett prevents T from improving his position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hazlett is nestled in close to T, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hazlett passes to full mount! Hazlett scoring with strikes but T is staying in there. Hazlett is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, T has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. T is working to get back to half guard.
Hazlett looking to control but T is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hazlett avoids the attempt from T to control. Hazlett working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Hazlett cracks T with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
T regains half guard. Hazlett is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! T knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hazlett on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hazlett scoring with strikes but T is staying in there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee warns T that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hazlett content just to control the position here. Hazlett lands a nice shot to the head.
T is rocked! Hazlett loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have T scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hazlett land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hazlett stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dustin Hazlett!
