Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Delieholy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Durko! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delieholy fails with the takedown. Durko forces Delieholy back against the cage and clinches. Delieholy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Delieholy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Durko wants to control from the top but Delieholy keeps moving. Durko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Delieholy managing to control the position.
Ricardo Durko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Durko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Durko throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delieholy controls the position for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durko tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Delieholy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Durko's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Delieholy trying to control from the bottom.
Durko trying to pass the guard but Delieholy defending well. Delieholy tries to kick Durko off but Durko keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delieholy is staying active underneath Durko, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Durko is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Delieholy reverses the position - he's now on top in Durko's guard. Delieholy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Durko working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Delieholy has passed into half guard!
Durko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Durko holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Durko is trying to get back to full guard. Delieholy throws a strike but Durko avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durko wants to sweep here but Delieholy controlling him for the moment. Delieholy postures up in Durko's guard and throws a big left but Durko blocks it. Durko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Delieholy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Durko is looking to stand up but Delieholy isn't so interested in that idea. Delieholy wants to pass the guard but Durko is keeping the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Durko can do anything to dispel that myth. Delieholy with a flurry of punches that miss. Durko is trying to keep Delieholy in close.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Delieholy stands up and waves to Durko to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delieholy shoots in but no luck this time. Delieholy keeps the fight on the outside. Durko moves forwards but Delieholy connects with a nice, crisp jab. Delieholy gets caught flat footed, as Durko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Delieholy pulls Durko in close to prevent any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Durko tries to free his leg and advance position but Delieholy is retaining full guard. Durko trying to control the position from guard on top but Delieholy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Durko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ricardo Durko will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Delieholy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Durko working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Delieholy keeping moving, preventing Durko from controlling successfully. Durkois looking to pass into half guard but Delieholy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Delieholy is in guard. Durko working a defensive guard but Delieholy passes into half guard.
Durko is looking to escape. Delieholy is working for a submission of some sort.

Delieholy looking to control but Durko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Delieholy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Delieholy trying to control but Durko is having none of it. Delieholy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delieholy unloading with bombs! Delieholy trying to control but Durko is having none of it. Durko wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Delieholy.
Durko tries to reverse the position but Delieholy maintains control. Delieholy trying to control but he's not successful this time. Delieholy prevents Durko from getting the reversal. Durko tries to hold on but Delieholy pushes him away. Delieholy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Durko is looking to escape. Delieholy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delieholy is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Durko can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Delieholy gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Durko doesn't manage to clinch there - Delieholy circles away.
Durko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Durko lands in his opponent's guard. Delieholy is controlling Durko's posture. Durko wants to control from the top but Delieholy keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delieholy keeping full guard, as Durko tries to pass. Durko postures up.
Tony Delieholy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Durko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Durko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Delieholy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Durko counters with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No joy there for Delieholy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Delieholy will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Durko gets a double leg takedown into Delieholy's guard. Durko trying to move into half guard but instead Delieholy has managed to sweep! Delieholy stops Durko from standing up. Durko trying to keep a closed guard but Delieholy is proving a slippery customer.
Durko looking for subs off his back but Delieholy has passed one foot through into half guard.
Delieholy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Durko pushes Delieholy off looking to stand but Delieholy dives back in and keeps control.
Delieholy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Delieholy slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delieholy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Durko is staying active underneath Delieholy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Delieholy is thwarting Durko's attempts to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Delieholy misses with an uppercut. Delieholy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Durko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Delieholy working over Durko with some ground and pound. Durko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Durko is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Delieholy jumps into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durko is looking to regain half guard here but Delieholy keeps moving and retains side control. Delieholy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Durko keeps working. Delieholy misses with the ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Delieholy stands up and we're back to a striking position. Durko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Delieholy. Durko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Delieholy takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durko remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Durko working away. Durko moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Durko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delieholy keeps working. Durko wants to stand but Delieholy has his arm trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delieholy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Delieholy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Delieholy. Durko postures up.
Durko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Durko won't allow Delieholy to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Durko wants to get up but he can't break Delieholy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Delieholy trying to control the position.
Delieholy is really struggling to control Durko but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Delieholy. I think Delieholy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
