Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasil Boyko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Sawaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasil Boyko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lee Sawaguchi!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyko looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Boyko decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Boyko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A head kick misses from Sawaguchi.

Boyko clinches up with Sawaguchi and pushes him back against the cage.
Sawaguchi managing to block the knees to the body from Boyko.
Boyko just leaning against Sawaguchi, taking a breather.

Boyko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sawaguchi throws a head kick but Boyko moves out of range.
Sawaguchi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boyko circles away.

Boyko rushes Sawaguchi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sawaguchi can't get the takedown.

Boyko manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Sawaguchi prevents Boyko from getting back to his feet.

Boyko manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boyko stuffs the takedown.
Vasil Boyko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Sawaguchi.

Boyko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sawaguchi, pushing him back against the cage.
Boyko unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sawaguchi lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Boyko drags the fight down to the ground.
Sawaguchi pushes down on Boyko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sawaguchi trying to control the action but Boyko is working from the bottom.
Boyko wants to get back to his feet.
Sawaguchi is looking to advance position but Boyko won't allow it.

Sawaguchi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boyko is just riding it out for now. Sawaguchi eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sawaguchi trying to control the action but Boyko is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sawaguchi tries to pass to full mount but Boyko defends it.
Sawaguchi is looking to take a break and control but Boyko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sawaguchi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Boyko is defending against the submission attempts here by Sawaguchi.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sawaguchi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyko keeps working.
Sawaguchi prevents Boyko from standing back up.

Sawaguchi is looking to take a break and control but Boyko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boyko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sawaguchi is working for a submission of some sort.
Sawaguchi is pressing down on Boyko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Boyko is holding on for now.
Sawaguchi prevents Boyko from standing back up.

Boyko manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Boyko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sawaguchi throws a head kick that misses.

Boyko drives through with a takedown into Sawaguchi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Boyko is breathing heavily.

Sawaguchi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boyko is aware though and is defending well.

Sawaguchi is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Boyko has his hands clasped together but Sawaguchi extends an breaks Boyko's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sawaguchi.
