Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ales Smid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Trillanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smid's entrance music is American Psycho- Jon Connor. A fine choice. Trillanes has chosen It's A Fight - Three 6 Mafia as his entrance music. Ales Smid has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trillanes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Smid backs up against the cage.
Smid dives in and grabs Trillanes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trillanes pushes down on Smid's head and hops out.
Smid avoids a kick to the body.
Trillanes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smid moves away.
Trillanes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smid.
Smid tries a head kick but it misses.
Trillanes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smid blocks the body kick.
Smid walks into a straight right hand from Trillanes.
Trillanes throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Trillanes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smid stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Smid counters with a shoot takedown. Trillanes fights it but they end up in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Smid wants to pass the guard but Trillanes is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Smid reaches up to try and control the position but Trillanes seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Smid rolls and tries to escape and now Trillanes has his back!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Smid seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Trillanes for as long as he can get away with.
Smid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
