The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nicks looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Nicks is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Nicks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nicks stands up and beckons Diamond to join him on the feet.
Nicks blocks a head kick by Diamond.

Nicks instigates a clinch.
Diamond wants to break the clinch but can't.
Diamond tries a knee to the head but Nicks blocks it.
Diamond misses with a knee strike.
Nicks blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Nicks ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nicks no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nicks has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Diamond should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nicks has tightened it up now! Diamond should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
