Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daijiro Kato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Halo Clinch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kato comes to the cage accompanied by Flyover. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clinch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Clinch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kato's waist but Kato gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Clinch off to one side.
Kato fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Clinch sprawls well initially but Kato persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Clinch keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Clinch is looking for a sweep. Kato is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kato uses his free foot to push down on Clinch's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Clinch.

Clinch wants to control but Kato is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kato wants to control the pace but Clinch is squirming around nicely.

Clinch tries to lock up and control but Kato gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Clinch is looking to improve his position but Kato isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Clinch is squirming around, avoiding Kato's attempts to control the action.
Clinch takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kato looking to secure an arm triangle but Clinch defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kato fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Clinch looks gassed!

Clinch wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Clinch tries to lock up and control but Kato gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Clinch wants to control but Kato is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kato is tying to control. Clinch wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kato lands strikes from half guard.
Clinch makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Clinch.
Clinch looking to control.
Kato stands and steps away. Clinch gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Clinch fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kato.
Clinch doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kato makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Clinch fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Daijiro Kato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Halo Clinch.

Kato throws a series of punches but Clinch moves out of range.
Clinch wants to clinch.
A head kick by Kato misses
and Clinch counters with an outside leg kick.
Kato looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Clinch misses with a takedown attempt - Kato sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Kato counters with a good low kick that Clinch was not able to check.
Kato gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Clinch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kato's guard now.
Clinch won't allow Kato to get back to his feet.
Kato has his hands on Clinch's head, controlling the position.
Kato looking for a sweep. Not yet Kato, not yet.
Kato pushes Clinch off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Clinch fails with the takedown
and Kato counters with a nice double leg into side control. Clinch won't be happy with that.

You can see the frustration on Clinch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kato staying calm.
Kato decides to stand back up. Kato steps back and let's Clinch get back to his feet.
Kato clinches up against the cage.
Clinch tries to pull guard but Kato won't allow it.
Clinch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kato here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
No luck for Clinch with that takedown attempt.
Clinch scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Clinch shoots in for a double leg but Kato sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kato wants to control from the top but Clinch keeps moving.
Clinch has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kato has passed into side control.
Clinch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Clinch reaches up around Kato's neck trying to control. But Kato takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Clinch! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Clinch is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Kato celebrates the victory with the fans!
