PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Schecter Engl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toushiro Hitsugaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Engl comes to the cage accompanied by Trafalgar - Requiem for the Last King. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Schecter Engl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toushiro Hitsugaya! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Engl stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Engl wants it to stay on the feet. Engl throws an overhand right that lands on Hitsugaya's shoulder, as Hitsugaya tries to avoid the shot. Hitsugaya with a lazy takedown attempt and Engl counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hitsugaya shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Engl pinned against the cage. Engl gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Schecter Engl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toushiro Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Engl has closed the distance and engaged Hitsugaya in a clinch.
Hitsugaya is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Engl pulls him back up using the underhooks. Engl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hitsugaya tries to clinch but Engl is having none of it. Engl keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
No joy there for Engl, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Engl throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hitsugaya sees it coming and avoids it easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Engl has Hitsugaya up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Engl's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hitsugaya misses with a body kick. Hitsugaya fails with a takedown attempt. Engl throws a hook to the side of Hitsugaya's head but Hitsugaya sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya tries for a takedown but Engl sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Engl throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hitsugaya tries to clinch up. Oooooh!!! Engl has knocked Hitsugaya down with a huge combo! Engl steps away and waves a wobbly Hitsugaya back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Hitsugaya is rocked!
It looks like Toushiro Hitsugaya has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Engl throws a jab when Hitsugaya was well out of range. Hitsugaya is still on wobbly legs! Can Engl finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Engl looks to land a combination but Hitsugaya avoids it well. Engl closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Hitsugaya out cold! Hitsugaya corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Schecter Engl!
