Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beau Smasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Satoshi Yoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Beau Smasher!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Smasher enables Yoshi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smasher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Smasher wants to sweep but no luck.
Yoshi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yoshi drops back looking for a leg! Smasher is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smasher manages to kick Yoshi off! Yoshi jumps back into Smasher's guard.
Yoshi trying to control but Smasher is working from the bottom.
Smasher wants to stand but Yoshi is controlling the position.
Yoshi stopping the sweep attempt from Smasher.
Smasher striking off his back but it's not causing Yoshi any problems.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smasher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yoshi is one step ahead there.
Smasher keeping moving, preventing Yoshi from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Satoshi Yoshi.
Smasher shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yoshi defends it nicely.

Yoshi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Yoshi postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Smasher to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yoshi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Yoshi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Smasher moves into range and clinches up with Yoshi.
Smasher doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Smasher tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Yoshi smiles and moves away.
Smasher tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yoshi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smasher looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smasher throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smasher shoots in looking for a takedown but Yoshi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smasher's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Satoshi Yoshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beau Smasher.

Yoshi dives in and scores a takedown into Smasher's guard.
Yoshi forces his way into half guard.
Smasher looks gassed!
Smasher is looking for a sweep. Yoshi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yoshi controlling the action here.
Smasher is staying active underneath Yoshi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yoshi is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Smasher reverses the position - he's now on top in Yoshi's guard.
Yoshi controls Smasher momentarily but Smasher frees himself.
Smasher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yoshi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yoshi pulls Smasher in to control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Satoshi Yoshi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Yoshi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smasher is fending him off so far but Yoshi persists. Nope, Smasher circles away and we're back to standing.
Smasher tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yoshi swivels and escapes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smasher moves in looking to clinch but Yoshi pushes him off.
Smasher shoots in for a takedown but Yoshi shows good takedown defense.
Yoshi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satoshi Yoshi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Smasher shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yoshi's guard.
Yoshi wants to sweep here but Smasher controlling him for the moment.

Yoshi pushes Smasher off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Smasher takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Smasher throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yoshi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smasher is in Yoshi's guard.
Yoshi wants to stand and escape but Smasher is having none of it.

Yoshi uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Smasher blocks a head kick by Yoshi.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smasher stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smasher wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yoshi avoids the body shot from Smasher.
Yoshi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smasher lands with a shot to the body.
Satoshi Yoshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smasher slaps away a takedown attempt from Yoshi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yoshi thows a body shot but no joy.
Smasher shoots in but no luck this time.

Smasher looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Yoshi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yoshi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Smasher!
Smasher wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Smasher trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Yoshi is riding his opponent, not letting Smasher buck him off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Yoshi's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Smasher covering up well and avoiding damage.

Good control from Yoshi.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smasher trying to control but not successfully.
Yoshi wants to control but Smasher is keeping busy.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Yoshi controlling the position well here. Smasher rolled but Yoshi kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Yoshi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Smasher for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Satoshi Yoshi.
Yoshi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yoshi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smasher can pounce on him.

Yoshi closes the distance and pushes Smasher back into the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smasher tries to pull guard but Yoshi won't allow it.
Yoshi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Smasher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Satoshi Yoshi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Smasher stuffs the takedown.

Smasher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yoshi sprawls well initially but Smasher persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Yoshi wants to control but Smasher is keeping busy.
Smasher is pressing down on Yoshi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Yoshi is holding on for now.
Smasher missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Smasher wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Yoshi uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Yoshi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yoshi throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Smasher wants to pass the guard but Yoshi is keeping the position.
Smasher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smasher trying to control but Yoshi is working from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Yoshi kicks Smasher off and gets to his feet.

Yoshi closes the distance and clinches.

Yoshi gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Yoshi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Yoshi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Yoshi working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yoshi controlling the position easily from mount.
Yoshi trying to control but Smasher is having none of it.

Smasher tries to hold on but Yoshi pushes him away.
Yoshi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smasher is looking to escape.
Smasher avoids a strike by Yoshi and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Yoshi's guard! Fantastic escape!
Yoshi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Yoshi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Satoshi Yoshi has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Smasher wants to clinch.
Yoshi misses with a double jab.
Smasher lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Smasher displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Yoshi.
Yoshi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smasher circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Satoshi Yoshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smasher shoots in looking for a takedown but Yoshi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smasher's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Beau Smasher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Satoshi Yoshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Smasher buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Satoshi Yoshi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yoshi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
