Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Phear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drake Phear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Slice!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Phear.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Phear.
Phear tries to advance to mount but can't.
Slice is letting Phear control him for a moment.
Slice is not content to let Phear control the position.
Phear connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Slice some visible discomfort.
Phear working the ground and pound from side control.
Phear tries to advance to mount but can't.
Phear in side control lands a decent elbow.
Slice is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Slice looks gassed!
Phear landing a few strikes.

Phear working the ground and pound.
Slice is looking to regain half guard here but Phear keeps moving and retains side control.
Phear wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slice keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phear stands up.
Phear looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slice is fending him off so far but Phear persists. Nope, Slice circles away and we're back to standing.
Phear throws a right and a left that both miss.
Slice wants to clinch.

Phear has taken the fight to the clinch.

Phear jumps guard.
Slice trying to control but Phear is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Phear is controlling Slice's posture.

Slice throws a strike but Phear rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Phear stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Phear changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slice looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Phear decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Phear shoots for a double leg takedown but Slice sprawls well. He's pushed Phear's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Slice clinches but Phear breaks the clinch

and Phear counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slice won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Phear lands a nice forearm strike.
Slice tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Phear is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Slice has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice tries to bench press Phear off him but Phear keeps the position.
Slice takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Slice is looking for a sweep.
Phear is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Phear decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Phear shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slice as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drake Phear. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Phear shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slice as he jumps to the side.
Phear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Phear keeps the fight on the outside.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Slice.

Phear closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Slice avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Phear.
Slice is looking to improve his position.
Phear content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Slice flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Phear is nestled in close to Slice, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Phear prevents Slice from standing back up.

Slice is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Phear pulls his head out easily.
Phear is tying to control. Slice wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Slice is looking to clinch but Phear is avoiding it.
Slice doesn't manage to clinch there - Phear circles away.

Slice bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Slice is looking to take a break and control but Phear is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Phear is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Slice off and has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drake Phear overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Phear takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Slice is trying desperately to improve position.

Phear lands with some strikes.

Phear looking to secure an arm triangle but Slice defends it well.

Slice slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Slice wants to improve his position but Phear is controlling well.
Phear keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Phear is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Phear wants to pass to mount but Slice is defending the position.
Phear moves into full mount! Slice won't be happy about that!
Slice wants to control but Phear is having none of it.

Phear is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Slice has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Slice tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Phear takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Phear has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Slice tries to hold on but Phear pushes him away.
Phear punishing his opponent with strikes.
Phear with the ground and pound from mount.
Phear postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Slice looks a forlorn figure.
Slice is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drake Phear dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Phear drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Slice scores with a kick to the midsection.

Slice gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Phear keeps control of Slice as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Slice lands with a light punch inside.
Slice has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Phear is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Phear breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slice takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Slice avoids the head kick by Phear.

Phear clinches up against the cage.

Phear drags the fight down to the ground.
Slice won't allow Phear to get back to his feet.
Phear manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Phear prevents Slice from getting the reversal.
A nice elbow there by Phear.
Slice wants to control but Phear is having none of it.
Slice can't escape the position.
Phear is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Slice can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Phear landing strikes from the mount and Slice is in trouble!
Slice working to try and regain half guard.
Phear trying to control but he's not successful this time.
BOOM! Phear connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Slice in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Phear looking to control and managing it successfully.
Slice is squirming around, avoiding Phear's attempts to control the action.

Slice is trying to escape the mount.
Phear tries to control but Slice wriggling away.
Slice regains half guard.
Slice moves into full guard.
Slice keeping moving, preventing Phear from controlling successfully.

Phear passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Slice is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Phear swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Slice is now in Phear's guard. A big mistake from Phear there, giving up the dominant position!

Slice thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Drake Phear showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Phear, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
