Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Garry Dupuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dupuis comes into the arena with Warriors Of Time by Black Tide blaring out of the sound system. Philip Phillips has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Garry Dupuis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Philip Phillips! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phillips dives in and grabs Dupuis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dupuis pushes down on Phillips's head and hops out. Dupuis throws a right and a left that both miss. Dupuis throws a sloppy head kick and Phillips moves out of range easily. Dupuis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dupuis gets a clinch. Dupuis tries to pull guard but Phillips holds him up against the cage and eventually Dupuis drops back down to his feet.
Dupuis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Phillips just stands there and leans against the cage. Dupuis prevents a takedown attempt there.
Phillips has Dupuis pressed against the cage, preventing Dupuis from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Dupuis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dupuis wants to clinch but Phillips slips to the side and Phillips counters with a left and a right that stings Dupuis. Phillips throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dupuis's waist but Dupuis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Phillips off to one side. Garry Dupuis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Phillips. Dupuis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Dupuis lands with a punch from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phillips is looking for a sweep. Dupuis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dupuis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dupuis has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Phillips works to full guard. Dupuis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Phillips is looking to sinch up a triangle. Dupuis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Phillips's body to avoid the submission. Phillips has instead reached around Dupuis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Phillips arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Philip Phillips!
