Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawnn Chen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Briggs throws a head kick that misses.
Chen works Briggs's body with a nice hook.
Briggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Chen leaves Briggs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chen avoids the head kick by Briggs.

Briggs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Chen's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Briggs trying to control but Chen is working from the bottom.
Briggs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Chen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Briggs is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Briggs advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chen wants to control but Briggs postures up.
Briggs lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Chen down.
Chen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Chen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chen tries to get out of the position.
Check out the look on Briggs's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Briggs creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Chen is rocked!

Briggs lands a strong strike to the head of Chen. That's dazed him! Briggs looking to finish here. Chen is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Briggs lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
