Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ali East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ali East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East tries to land a front kick but Ngo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ngo avoids a kick to the body.
Ngo moves out of range as East throws a body kick.

Ngo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ngo controlling the action here.
Ngo is thwarting East's attempts to control the position.
East on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if East tries to get out of the position.
Ngo missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ngo is looking for a kimura here.
Ngo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ngo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so East is just riding it out for now. Ngo eventually gives up the hold.

Ngo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but East sees it coming and defends easily.
East knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ngo on the ground.

East is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ngo scores with a couple of nice shots.
Ngo prevents East from improving his position.
East trying to hold on to Ngo's head to control him but Ngo postures up.

East keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
East keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Ngo is trying to work for a kimura but East is defending well.

Ngo is working for a kimura but East is defending it quite comfortably.
East wants to get back to full guard.
Ngo scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ngo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Ngo trying to control the position from guard on top but East is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ngo throwing strikes but missing.
Ngo wants to pass the guard but East is keeping the position.
East pulls Ngo in close to prevent any damage.
East working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ngo.
Ngo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ngo sitting in guard, not really doing much.
East wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Henry Ngo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ngo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in East's guard.

Ngo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ngo is fighting to break East's control of his arms but East is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ngo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as East works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ngo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ngo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
East wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ngo blocks the body kick.
East looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A leg kick checked by Ngo.
East throws a wild body kick that Ngo sees coming a mile off.
East finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Ngo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ngo is looking to work some ground and pound but East has wrist control.
Ngo throws a big elbow that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ngo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
East being controlled here, momentarily.
Ngo is looking to work some ground and pound but East has wrist control.
Ngo advances position into side control!

Ngo landing a few strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ngo is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. East is trying to escape and Ngo transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and East is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ngo! Very nice indeed!
