The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kuzniecow to the mat! Kuzniecow manages to get full guard.
Kuzniecow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Alvez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alvez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jambo Alvez.

Alvez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kuzniecow is just riding it out for now. Alvez eventually gives up the hold.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kuzniecow enables Alvez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kuzniecow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
