Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Brandoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobe Kovain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kovain comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Orbital Crusher kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandoa misses with a takedown
and Kovain counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kovain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brandoa slips a jab and a cross from Kovain.
Brandoa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kovain pinned against the cage. Kovain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brandoa looks for a takedown but Kovain sprawls well.

Brandoa tries to bum rush Kovain with a series of wild strikes but Kovain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Brandoa has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kovain works over Brandoa's head and body with a nice combination.
Kovain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brandoa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Kovain keeps the fight on the outside.
A jab from Kovain finds it's way through Brandoa's defenses.
Kovain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brandoa sprawls well initially but Kovain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kovain is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kovain slips a nice elbow through Brandoa's hands, connecting with Brandoa's forehead.

Kovain thows a huge punch but Brandoa dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kovain lands a nice short elbow.
Kovain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brandoa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kovain.
Kovain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brandoa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kovain connects with a nice short shot to Brandoa's temple.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Brandoa works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kovain in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Brandoa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kovain defends well.
Kovain distracts Brandoa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kovain controls from within his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kovain wants to pass the guard but Brandoa is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kobe Kovain dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mark Brandoa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kovain listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Brandoa tries for a takedown but Kovain circles away easily
and Kovain counters with a one-two to the body.
Brandoa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kovain sprawls well. Kovain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brandoa gets slowly back to his feet.

Brandoa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kovain pinned against the cage. Kovain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Horrible takedown by Brandoa or perhaps it was just good defense by Kovain which made him look bad.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Brandoa. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Kovain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Brandoa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kovain tries to avoid it but Brandoa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kovain to the ground. Kovain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kovain throws a nice looking combination but Brandoa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brandoa blocks a head kick by Kovain.
Kovain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Brandoa misses with the combination.
Kovain tests Brandoa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kovain closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kovain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brandoa was covering up waiting for the punch and Kovain finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Brandoa is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kovain throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brandoa's body to avoid the submission. Brandoa has instead reached around Kovain's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brandoa arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
