The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaferani avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zaferani moves away from the strike by Fox.
Zaferani looks to land a right hand but Fox moved out of range.
Zaferani lands a jab.

Sloppy strikes from Fox. Those never looked like landing.
Nice defenses there by Fox.
Fox takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Zaferani rushes Fox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fox swings wildly with an uppercut but Zaferani uses good head movement to avoid it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zaferani creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Zaferani tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fox avoids it.

Fox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zaferani rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fox moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fox clobbers Zaferani with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Zaferani bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fox's head backwards.
Fox throws a looping overhand right but Zaferani ducks down to avoid it.

and Zaferani cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fox scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Zaferani misses with a left hand
and Fox counters with a left to the body.

Fox is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Zaferani.
Fox tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zaferani was well out of range. Poor timing from Fox.
Zaferani lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Fox throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

The fighters circling - Fox throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Zaferani sizes up Fox with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Zaferani throws a leg kick which misses Fox's front leg but catches the back leg as Fox tries to avoid it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zaferani doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Zaferani counters with a good low kick that Fox was not able to check.
Some bone on bone action there as Fox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Zaferani feints and then cracks Fox's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fox down.

and Fox takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zaferani tries a head kick but it misses.
Fox throws out a powerful jab.
Zaferani tries to clinch but Fox moves out of range.
Fox moves out of range of the leg kick from Zaferani.

Fox drives through with a takedown into guard.
Zaferani manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fox manages to get himself to full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
