And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amorsolo rushes Makunouchi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Amorsolo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Amorsolo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Amorsolo clinches.
Makunouchi takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Ippo Makunouchi has been cut.
Amorsolo breaks the clinch.
Amorsolo clinches up against the cage.
Amorsolo is trying to push Makunouchi away but Makunouchi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Amorsolo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Makunouchi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Amorsolo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Makunouchi, pushing him back against the cage.
Makunouchi wants to take the fight to the mat but Amorsolo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Amorsolo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amorsolo wants to stand but Makunouchi is controlling the position.
Makunouchi wants to control from the top but Amorsolo keeps moving.
Makunouchi scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Makunouchi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Amorsolo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Makunouchi somewhat.
Makunouchi darts in and clinches Amorsolo up against the cage.
Amorsolo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A frustrated look appears on Amorsolo's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Amorsolo tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Amorsolo is pressed up against the cage. Makunouchi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Amorsolo down to the mat. Amorsolo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Makunouchi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Amorsolo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Makunouchi prevents Amorsolo from getting back to his feet.
Amorsolo pushes Makunouchi off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Amorsolo forces Makunouchi back against the cage and clinches.
Amorsolo lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Amorsolo breaks from the clinch.
Amorsolo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Makunouchi, pushing him back against the cage.

Amorsolo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Makunouchi uses from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Makunouchi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Amorsolo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
