Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joonas Saarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Alexander has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Joonas Saarinen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joonas Saarinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cain Alexander! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saarinen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Saarinen seems to be working for a kimura but Alexander defends the submission attempt. Saarinen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Saarinen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Saarinen trying to control from half guard but Alexander is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saarinen wants to pass to mount but Alexander is defending the position. Alexander is trying to stand.
Saarinen is trying to control the action in half guard but Alexander is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Saarinen is taking a breather. Alexander says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Saarinen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alexander! Saarinen won't let Alexander get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Saarinen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Saarinen breaks from Alexander's wrist control and lands an elbow. Saarinen tries to control but Alexander wriggling away. Alexander really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saarinen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Saarinen lands with some strikes. Saarinen trying to control but Alexander is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saarinen looking to finish Alexander with some ground and pound. This is bad for Alexander! Alexander wants to get back to his feet.
Saarinen landing shots from mount. Saarinen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Saarinen putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Saarinen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alexander in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saarinen cracks Alexander with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Saarinen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alexander is looking to escape. Alexander looks gassed! Saarinen looking to secure an arm triangle but Alexander defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saarinen connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saarinen looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Saarinen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alexander has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters circling - Saarinen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Saarinen throws a hook but Alexander blocks it. Alexander forces Saarinen back against the cage and clinches. Alexander connects with a nasty looking knee right to Saarinen's face.
Saarinen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Saarinen tries to pull guard but Alexander won't allow it.
Alexander lands a nice shot to the body. Alexander landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Alexander jumps into guard, dragging Saarinen to the mat.
Saarinen passes Alexander's left leg - he's now in half guard. Alexander wants to get back to his feet. Saarinen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Saarinen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alexander's head. Saarinen trying to mount his opponent but Alexander defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saarinen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Saarinen lands with a punch from half guard. Saarinen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Saarinen thows a huge punch but Alexander dodges it nicely.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Saarinen closes the distance and clinches up with Alexander, looking for a takedown. Saarinen pushes Alexander against the cage but Alexander circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Saarinen throws a series of punches but Alexander avoids them all with ease. Alexander tries to clinch up but Saarinen circles away and keeps his distance. Alexander keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Saarinen clinches. Saarinen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alexander fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joonas Saarinen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alexander moves in looking to clinch but Saarinen pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Saarinen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Saarinen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alexander but Alexander pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alexander wants to clinch. Saarinen shoots in but Alexander avoids the takedown attempt easily. Alexander keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alexander misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saarinen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alexander. Saarinen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Alexander holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Alexander tries to land knees in the clinch but Saarinen avoids the damage to the body. Alexander breaks from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saarinen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saarinen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Saarinen works his way into full mount! Saarinen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Alexander's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saarinen quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Saarinen but it's paid off an Alexander is forced to tap! Nice work by Saarinen.
