Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zo Dupont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincenzo Calliente!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupont tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dupont fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dupont is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zo Dupont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dupont fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dupont looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Calliente is fending him off so far but Dupont persists. Nope, Calliente circles away and we're back to standing.
Calliente closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dupont connects with a knee to the head.
Calliente misses with an elbow over the top.
Dupont fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zo Dupont. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dupont tries to pull guard but Calliente won't allow it.
Dupont lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Calliente turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Calliente manages to end up in side control.
Dupont tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Calliente creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Dupont is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Calliente's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Dupont slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Calliente gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Calliente rushes Dupont and presses him up against the cage.
Dupont tries to pull guard but Calliente holds him up against the cage and eventually Dupont drops back down to his feet.
Dupont can't get the takedown.
Dupont drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Calliente gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dupont is breathing heavily.
Dupont is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Calliente pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Calliente pulls guard effortlessly.
Calliente tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Calliente has his foot on Dupont's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dupont works his way back into a safe position though.
Dupont forces his way into half guard.
Dupont missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Calliente is trying to control but can't.
Calliente connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Dupont trying to pass the guard but Calliente defending well.
Calliente regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Dupont.

Calliente wants to sweep but no luck.
Calliente scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Dupont throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Calliente sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Calliente clinches.
Dupont tries to score a body lock takedown but Calliente shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Calliente tries to break the clinch but Dupont is controlling the position.
Calliente wants a takedown but no success here.
Dupont lands a big knee from the Thai clinch and Calliente goes down hard! The ref takes a good look at him but he's still defending himself. Dupont in side control.
Calliente is rocked!
It looks like Vincenzo Calliente has been cut.
Dupont in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Calliente looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Dupont turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
