Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chance Taken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Mikhailovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chance Taken! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dmitri Mikhailovich! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailovich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dmitri Mikhailovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mikhailovich thuds a left hand into Taken's body. Mikhailovich rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Taken counters with a shoot takedown. Mikhailovich fights it but they end up in guard. Taken looking to sit in guard and control but Mikhailovich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Taken is trying to keep Mikhailovich in close.
Mikhailovich trying to control but Taken is working from the bottom. Mikhailovich loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mikhailovich trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mikhailovich drops back, looking for a kneebar! Taken looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Taken looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Taken! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Taken tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Taken has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Taken slows the pace down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taken lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taken wants to control but Mikhailovich is keeping him busy. Taken working the head with strikes. Mikhailovich is looking to regain half guard here but Taken keeps moving and retains side control. Mikhailovich can't do much from the bottom here. Mikhailovich is not content to let Taken control the position. Mikhailovich tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Taken wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mikhailovich is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Taken wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mikhailovich keeps working. Taken looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mikhailovich is avoiding damage well.
The strikes coming from Taken are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Taken trying to control the position but Mikhailovich is working away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taken with the ground and pound but Mikhailovich regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Well, if Taken is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chance Taken. Mikhailovich throws a big shot that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mikhailovich stuffs the takedown. Taken ducks under a wild hook from Mikhailovich. Mikhailovich throws out a loose jab but Taken uses good head movement to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chance Taken dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mikhailovich shoots for a takedown but Taken saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mikhailovich looks to throw the jab but Taken is out of range. Taken fails with an attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Mikhailovich misses the target. Mikhailovich jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mikhailovich lands a slapping body shot.
Mikhailovich displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Taken throws out the jab. Mikhailovich gets tackled into the cage by Taken. Taken maintains the clinch. Mikhailovich has a couple of punches blocked by Taken.
Mikhailovich tries for a takedown but Taken manages to get underhooks.
Taken is trying to trip Mikhailovich. He has hold of a leg but Mikhailovich is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Taken persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Taken is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Taken trying to control but Mikhailovich is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chance Taken. Taken avoids a kick to the body.

Taken uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mikhailovich. Mikhailovich throws a jab when Taken was well out of range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Taken. Mikhailovich is looking for a sweep. Chance Taken overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taken throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Taken works to advance to full mount. Mikhailovich defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Taken takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Taken looking to ground and pound but Mikhailovich is blocking nicely. Taken is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mikhailovich to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mikhailovich shrugs it off. Taken working the ground and pound effectively.
This has been an exciting period of action! Mikhailovich suckers Taken into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Mikhailovich is now in Taken's guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taken wants to sweep but no luck. Taken is pulling down on Mikhailovich's head. It's preventing any offense from Mikhailovich, at least for the moment. Taken keeping full guard, as Mikhailovich tries to pass. Taken is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mikhailovich throws an elbow that misses. Taken uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mikhailovich's guard. Nice move by Taken! Taken looking to sit in guard and control but Mikhailovich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mikhailovich working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mikhailovich avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Taken looking to sweep here. No luck so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mikhailovich postures up.

Chance Taken dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Taken drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Mikhailovich dips to his left and cracks Taken with an uppercut! Mikhailovich throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Taken throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mikhailovich was covering up waiting for the punch and Taken finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taken stopping the sweep attempt from Mikhailovich. Taken trying to control the position from guard on top but Mikhailovich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taken stays in close to Mikhailovich's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mikhailovich controls Taken momentarily but Taken frees himself. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Taken wants to control from the top but Mikhailovich keeps moving.
We're going to have a standup here because Chance Taken wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Taken fails with an attempt to clinch.
Taken wants to clinch. Taken closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mikhailovich to the mat! Mikhailovich manages to get full guard. Mikhailovich keeping moving, preventing Taken from controlling successfully. Taken tries to free his leg and advance position but Mikhailovich is retaining full guard.

and Taken counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mikhailovich thinking. Taken comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Taken tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mikhailovich paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mikhailovich throws a hook but Taken avoids it easily. Mikhailovich pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mikhailovich stuffs the takedown attempt from Taken. Taken gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chance Taken. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mikhailovich cracks Taken with a right hand to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Taken ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mikhailovich moves away. Dmitri Mikhailovich has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Taken feints and as Mikhailovich raises his hands in defense, Taken changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Chance Taken is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mikhailovich working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Taken. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mikhailovich working a defensive guard here.
Mikhailovich escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taken gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that's the end of the fight! Chance Taken showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Taken, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
