PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jabba Hutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Advance On v2. Roger Lin acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jabba Hutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Lin!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hutt fails with the takedown.

Lin looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hutt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hutt is on top in guard.
Lin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hutt.
Lin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hutt is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hutt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lin is keeping the position for now.
Hutt postures up in Lin's guard and throws a big left but Lin blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hutt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hutt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hutt throwing strikes but missing.
Hutt trying to control but Lin is working from the bottom.
Lin keeping full guard, as Hutt tries to pass.
Hutt scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lin keeping moving, preventing Hutt from controlling successfully.
Hutt with a nice head shot there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hutt wants to control from the top but Lin keeps moving.
Hutt throwing strikes from guard but Lin blocks nicely.
Lin keeping moving, preventing Hutt from controlling successfully.
Hutt is looking to work some ground and pound but Lin has wrist control.
Lin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hutt!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hutt bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hutt trying to control the position from guard on top but Lin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hutt sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Lin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hutt is one step ahead there.
Hutt wants to pass the guard but Lin is keeping the position.
Hutt stands and throws Lin's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hutt is trying to get an arm triangle but Lin is defending well.
Lin is looking for a sweep.
Hutt misses with the ground and pound.
Lin struggling a bit here.
Hutt lands some shots froms side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hutt tries to move to mount but Lin blocks the move with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jabba Hutt dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hutt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lin pinned against the cage. Lin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hutt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lin swivels and escapes.
Lin stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jabba Hutt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hutt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lin as he avoids it easily.

Hutt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lin is trying to defend but Hutt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hutt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hutt uses his free foot to push down on Lin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lin.
Hutt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hutt cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lin tries to reverse the position but Hutt maintains control.
Lin taking shots to the head.
Lin is trying to escape the mount.
Hutt scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hutt controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hutt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hutt prevents Lin from getting the reversal.
Lin tries to hold on but Hutt pushes him away.
Hutt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hutt connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hutt throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lin because Hutt loaded up on that one.
Hutt lands a big elbow.
Hutt prevents Lin from getting the reversal.
Hutt is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hutt tries to control but Lin wriggling away.
Hutt landing strikes from the mount and Lin is in trouble!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hutt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Lin is rocked!
Hutt postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Lin badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hutt around the waist but Hutt pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hutt is the winner by TKO! Hutt jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jabba Hutt!
During a confident post fight interview, Jabba Hutt thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
