0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mamoru Takamura! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takamura's head backwards. Haley misses with an uppercut. Takamura saw that one coming. Takamura gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Haley to score an easy takedown into full guard. Haley with a flurry of punches that miss. Haley engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Haley throws a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haley slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Haley seems content to control. Haley prevents Takamura from improving his position. Haley winds up and cracks Takamura with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takamura looks gassed! Haley not landing any meaningful shots this time. Haley is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Haley takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Haley dominating with strikes here.
