Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Clarke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mario Dusiciel! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dusiciel shoots in and drives through. Clarke sprawls well. Clarke throws a series of punches but Dusiciel avoids them all with ease. Clarke throws a combination that misses and Dusiciel counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Dusiciel landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Dusiciel trying to control the action but Clarke is working from the bottom. Clarke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dusiciel seems to be working for a kimura but Clarke defends the submission attempt. Dusiciel trying to mount his opponent but Clarke defends it. Clarke pushes Dusiciel off looking to stand but Dusiciel dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dusiciel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Clarke tries to kick Dusiciel off but Dusiciel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Dusiciel is keen to just control but Clarke is a slippery customer. Dusiciel trying to mount his opponent but Clarke defends it. Clarke wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dusiciel working the head and body with strikes. Clarke makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Clarke tries to bum rush Dusiciel with a series of wild strikes but Dusiciel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dusiciel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. You get the feeling that Clarke really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dusiciel looking for a guillotine from mount but Clarke is having none of it. Dusiciel with good strikes from the mount here! This has been an exciting period of action! Dusiciel in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Clarke is rocked! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! A big strike lands for Dusiciel! That's really hurt Clarke and he's turned his back - Dusiciel keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Dusiciel jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mario Dusiciel! Mario Dusiciel decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
