Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jiri Ahokas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ahokas comes to the ring accompanied by Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC. Watanabe has chosen Bombage by Tiësto as his entrance music. Kai Watanabe struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Jiri Ahokas had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jiri Ahokas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kai Watanabe!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahokas throws a sloppy head kick and Watanabe moves out of range easily.
A jab lands there for Watanabe.
Ahokas waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Watanabe.

Watanabe tries to keep at a distance but Ahokas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ahokas pushes Watanabe back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Ahokas blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ahokas working Watanabe over with knees to the body.
Ahokas misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ahokas misses with an elbow over the top.
Ahokas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Watanabe blocks it with crossed arms.
Watanabe working hard to break the clinch.

Watanabe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ahokas connects with a body shot that sends Watanabe's belly button to the back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ahokas throws a head kick that misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Watanabe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ahokas - the referee stops the clock and Watanabe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ahokas. Watanabe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watanabe misses with a kick to the body.
Ahokas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Watanabe sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ahokas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Donk. Ahokas catches Watanabe right on the button with a cross.
Watanabe pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ahokas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Watanabe moves out of range of the body kick.

Ahokas has managed to clinch.
Ahokas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Watanabe blocks it with crossed arms.

Watanabe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Some bone on bone action there as Watanabe checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Ahokas tries a head kick but it misses.
Watanabe tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Ahokas.
The fighters circling - Watanabe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ahokas digs a good body shot into Watanabe's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Watanabe keeps the fight on the outside.
Watanabe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ahokas moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Good leg kick by Ahokas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Watanabe looks gassed!
Ahokas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Watanabe's head.
Watanabe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ahokas. Watanabe does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ahokas instigates a clinch.
Ahokas throws a knee to the head but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watanabe avoiding damage as Ahokas throws knees to the body.
Ahokas throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Watanabes head.
Ahokas is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Watanabe is keeping busy.
Ahokas tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Watanabe avoids it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Watanabe trying to control the position but instead, Ahokas has worked for underhooks and has pushed Watanabe into the ropes.
Ahokas misses with a knee to the head.
Ahokas working Watanabe over with knees to the body.
Ahokas lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Watanabe looking to slow down the pace here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ahokas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ahokas tries a head kick but it misses.
Ahokas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ahokas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ahokas moves out of range of the strikes.
Ahokas moves in looking to clinch but Watanabe pushes him off.
Ahokas scores with a body shot.
Ahokas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ahokas staying out of range there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ahokas moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jiri Ahokas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ahokas throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Ahokas goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jiri Ahokas dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ahokas thows a body shot but no joy.
Watanabe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ahokas can pounce on him.
Ahokas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Watanabe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ahokas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ahokas lands with a nice body kick.
That kick from Ahokas tenderised Watanabe's leg. Watanabe is trying to keep his angry face on.
Ahokas throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ahokas swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Watanabe.


Watanabe is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Whack! Ahokas lands a heavy head kick that drops Watanabe. The ref tackles Ahokas to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Watanabe was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jiri Ahokas!
Jiri Ahokas is the new lightweight champion!
