Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Facundo Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Facundo Mendez! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mendez connects with a body shot. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bravo is breathing heavily. Mendez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mendez drops Bravo with a left and a right! Oh, Bravo is hurt - Mendez dives into side control looking to finish!
Bravo is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bravo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mendez presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Oh Bravo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mendez tries to control but Bravo wriggling away. Bravo seems to have got his legs back now. Mendez looking to secure an arm triangle but Bravo defends it well. Mendez avoids the attempt from Bravo to control. Mendez working for a submission but Bravo is keeping him at bay. Mendez trying to control but Bravo is having none of it. Mendez prevents Bravo from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez looking to control but Bravo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bravo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mendez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bravo is now in Mendez's guard. A big mistake from Mendez there, giving up the dominant position! Mendez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mendez is looking for a triangle but Bravo pushes his legs off easily.

Mendez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bravo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mendez is tightening it up a little... Bravo has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bravo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bravo taps out! nice BJJ there by Mendez!
