Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Punch Elbow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dima Zinin!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elbow misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zinin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zinin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Elbow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Elbow on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elbow is letting Zinin control him for a moment.
Zinin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Elbow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zinin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Elbow knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Zinin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dima Zinin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Elbow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zinin tries to avoid it but Elbow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zinin to the ground. Zinin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Zinin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Elbow to the ground. Zinin is now in Elbow's guard.
Elbow wants to stand and escape but Zinin is having none of it.

Zinin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Elbow is keeping the position for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zinin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Elbow but Elbow pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Elbow leaves Zinin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Zinin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Zinin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Zinin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Elbow is now in Zinin's guard. A big mistake from Zinin there, giving up the dominant position!

Elbow in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dima Zinin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Zinin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Zinin wants to pass to mount but Elbow is defending the position.

Zinin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
