Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Woodhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Woodhouse has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Woodhouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Parker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker has Woodhouse up against the cage in a clinch.
Parker tries to pull guard but Woodhouse won't allow it.
Parker stalls.
Parker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Woodhouses head.
Parker jumps guard but Woodhouse stands there with Parker around his waist. Parker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Parker wants a takedown.
Josh Woodhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Parker.
Woodhouse tries to circle away but Parker has him pinned against the cage.
Parker stalling the fight.
Parker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Woodhouse just stands there and leans against the cage.
Woodhouse is trying to break the clinch but Parker has him pressed against the cage.

Parker breaks the clinch.
Woodhouse tries to close the distance and clinch but Parker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Woodhouse takes a kick to the side of the head.
Woodhouse could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Woodhouse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Parker clinches.

Parker pulls guard effortlessly.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Woodhouse stands up from Parker's guard - Woodhouse perhaps looking for a knockout.
Parker throws a series of punches but Woodhouse avoids them all with ease.
Parker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Woodhouse as he jumps to the side.
Parker jabs at Woodhouse's body.
Woodhouse throws a combination that misses
and Parker counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Woodhouse is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Parker looks gassed!

Woodhouse has Parker up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parker tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Woodhouse is trying to break the clinch but Parker has him pressed against the cage.
Parker lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Parker prevents Woodhouse from breaking the clinch.
Parker fails to pull guard.
Woodhouse wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Parker is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Parker is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Woodhouse to keep the fight standing.

Parker doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Woodhouse gets to his feet. Parker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Woodhouse tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Woodhouse to the ground. Woodhouse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Woodhouse throws a big shot that misses.
Woodhouse misses the shot to the body.
Woodhouse throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Parker shoots in but no luck this time.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Parker tries for a takedown but Woodhouse manages to get underhooks.
Woodhouse can't break the clinch.
Woodhouse is trying to force a seperation but Parker has the dominant position.
Woodhouse wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parker has him pressed against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Woodhouse wants to stall.
Parker is pushing Woodhouse up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Woodhouse is trying to break the clinch but Parker has him pressed against the cage.
Woodhouse tries to break the clinch but Parker is controlling the position.

Woodhouse has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Parker uses from the top position.
Woodhouse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Parker dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Woodhouse crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Parker - the referee stops the clock and Woodhouse gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Parker. Woodhouse manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Woodhouse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Parker counters with a nice body shot.
Woodhouse throws a right hand that Parker ducks under and follows up with a left that Parker also avoids with ease.
Parker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodhouse is fending him off so far but Parker persists. Nope, Woodhouse circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parker drives through and clinches with Woodhouse against the cage.

Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Parker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woodhouse.
Parker connects with a leg kick. Woodhouse looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Parker shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodhouse tries to sprawl out of it but Parker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodhouse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Parker has a takedown stuffed.
Josh Woodhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Parker.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Parker misses with a head kick.

Woodhouse scoring well with a low kick there.

Parker closes the distance and clinches.
Parker keeps control of Woodhouse as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Parker wants to get up but he can't break Woodhouse's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Parker lands a couple of digs.
Parker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Parker wants to stand and escape but instead Woodhouse has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Woodhouse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Parker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Parker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Woodhouse defends well.

Parker wants to stand and escape but Woodhouse is having none of it.
Woodhouse lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Woodhouse loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Woodhouse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Parker takes the fight into the clinch.
Woodhouse misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Woodhouse misses with a straight left.
Woodhouse tries to clinch but Parker is having none of it.
Parker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Parker plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Parker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Josh Woodhouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Woodhouse throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Parker counters with a low kick, right behind Woodhouse 's knee.
Parker is looking to slow Woodhouse down with leg kicks.
Parker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Parker checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Woodhouse tries to clinch up but Parker circles away and keeps his distance.
Woodhouse throws a body punch but Parker moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Parker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Woodhouse's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Woodhouse rushes Parker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Woodhouse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Parker shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodhouse tries to sprawl out of it but Parker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodhouse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Parker throws a head kick that misses.
Parker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Woodhouse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Parker somewhat.

Woodhouse will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Paul Parker seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Woodhouse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Parker swivels and escapes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Woodhouse throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Parker moves into range and clinches up with Woodhouse.

Josh Woodhouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woodhouse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Parker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Woodhouse avoids it really well and circles away.
Parker scores with a head kick. Woodhouse tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Parker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Woodhouse sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Woodhouse wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Parker tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Woodhouse avoids it.
Parker wants a takedown but no success here.
Parker tries to pull guard but Woodhouse forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

and Parker counters with a three punch combo that has Woodhouse backing up. Woodhouse nods at Parker to acknowledge the strikes.
Parker tries to clinch but Woodhouse is having none of it.
Woodhouse keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Woodhouse is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Parker's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Parker is defended easily by Woodhouse.
Woodhouse fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Parker manages to avoid it.
Woodhouse stuffs the takedown attempt from Parker. Parker gets slowly back to his feet.
Woodhouse throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No joy there for Woodhouse, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Woodhouse sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Parker moves to clinch but Woodhouse breaks away
and Parker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josh Woodhouse.
I think Parker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
