Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cassius Boran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Weeks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weeks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the Tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cassius Boran! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Weeks! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boran moves forwards but Weeks connects with a nice, crisp jab. Sloppy strikes from Weeks. Those never looked like landing. Boran changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weeks tries to avoid it but Boran manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weeks to the ground. Weeks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Boran jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Billy Weeks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This has been an exciting period of action! Weeks connects with an inside leg kick. Weeks lands with a nice body punch. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Boran. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. A nice inside leg kick there by Weeks. That's going to slow Boran down. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Boran might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Weeks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Weeks pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Boran is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Weeks. Weeks scores with a head kick. Boran tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Weeks scores with a head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Weeks lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Weeks lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Boran is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Weeks looks to land a combination but Boran avoids it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weeks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Weeks listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Donk. Weeks catches Boran right on the button with a cross. Oh Boran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Weeks swinging wildly here.
Weeks lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A nice inside leg kick there by Weeks. That's going to slow Boran down. Boran seems to have got his legs back now. Weeks cracks the inside of Boran's front leg. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A looping hook to the body misses from Weeks. Boran does a little dance to reset his feet. Boran blocks a head kick by Weeks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boran misses with the body kick and Boran takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Weeks swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Weeks's jab looks to have found its range, popping Boran under the eye. Weeks's corner calls for a 1-2. Weeks obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Boran has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Boran there as he acknowledges the shot. Boran avoids a punch combination nicely.

Boran's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Weeks connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Boran scrambles back to his feet. A low kick from Boran lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Weeks has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Weeks and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Weeks with a body punch. A glancing blow. Weeks lands a leg kick that knocks Boran off balance momentarily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Weeks lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Billy Weeks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boran gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Weeks gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

I was concerned with the clinch but knew if i could get him to the ground this was my fight. All about executing your game plan'.
