Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gnome Chomsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zelda Abbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gnome Chomsky has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gnome Chomsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zelda Abbot! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbot manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chomsky on his heels. He'll look to pass Chomsky's guard now, I'm sure. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Abbot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chomsky swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chomsky looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Abbot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Abbot trying to control but Chomsky is working from the bottom. Abbot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Chomsky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abbot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Chomsky is breathing heavily. Abbot wants to pass the guard but Chomsky is keeping the position. Chomsky keeping moving, preventing Abbot from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Zelda Abbot. Abbot closes the distance and clinches. Abbot wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chomsky has him pressed against the cage. Chomsky is looking for a takedown. Abbot has Chomsky pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Abbot pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chomsky tumbling to the mat - Abbot dives into Chomsky's guard. Abbot thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Abbot trying to control but Chomsky is working from the bottom. Abbot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chomsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chomsky looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zelda Abbot wasn't active enough on the ground. Abbot moves into the clinch. Chomsky drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Abbot pulls guard effortlessly. Abbot working for a triangle but Chomsky defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chomsky postures up.
Chomsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Abbot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Abbot has his foot on Chomsky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chomsky works his way back into a safe position though. Abbot keeping moving, preventing Chomsky from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Abbot controls Chomsky momentarily but Chomsky frees himself. Chomsky trying to control but Abbot is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Abbot wants to get back to his feet but Chomsky is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Abbot tries to land a sweep but no joy. Abbot is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Zelda Abbot. Horrible takedown by Chomsky or perhaps it was just good defense by Abbot which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gnome Chomsky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Abbot throws a sloppy head kick and Chomsky moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zelda Abbot dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Chomsky tries to keep at a distance but Abbot has taken the fight into the clinch. Abbot has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chomsky uses from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Abbot keeping moving, preventing Chomsky from controlling successfully. Abbot trying to control the position.
Chomsky trying to control but Abbot is working from the bottom. Chomsky is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Abbot is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Chomsky postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Abbot feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Abbot tries to free his leg and advance position but Chomsky is retaining full guard. Abbot wants to control from the top but Chomsky keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Abbot controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Zelda Abbot hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Chomsky shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Abbot looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Abbot changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chomsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Abbot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chomsky keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chomsky wants to control but Abbot postures up. Abbot sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Chomsky is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Abbot. Abbot wants to stand but Chomsky is controlling his arm. Abbot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chomsky keeps working. Abbot wants to stand but Chomsky is controlling his arm. Chomsky is trying to control Abbot's posture but Abbot avoids it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Abbot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chomsky keeps working. That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Chomsky wants to control but Abbot postures up. Chomsky is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Abbot's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Abbot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chomsky doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Abbot. Chomsky looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Chomsky looking for submissions off his back.

Abbot is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight! Zelda Abbot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Abbot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
