Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Fort Minor - Petrified (Gracie Remix). Christopher Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Aldo! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo tries to clinch up. Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt and Gracie counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Gracie looking to finish!
Aldo is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gracie passes Aldo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Aldo is still in real trouble! Can Gracie finish him? Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gracie controlling the pace. Aldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie stops Aldo from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie slows the pace down in half guard. Aldo seems to have recovered his senses. Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.
We're going to have a standup here because Christopher Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Aldo lands a jab to the head.
Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aldo.
Gracie misses with a few strikes there.
Aldo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Aldo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Aldo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Gracie catches Aldo napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Aldo to the canvas!
It looks like Jose Aldo has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie passes Aldo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Gracie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Aldo wants to clinch. Gracie lands with a good body shot. Aldo looks gassed! Gracie digs a good hook to Aldo's body.
Gracie gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gracie lands a knee to the head.
Aldo throws an elbow but it misses.
Gracie connects with a nasty looking knee right to Aldo's face.
Gracie lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Aldo to his knees! Gracie keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christopher Gracie!
