Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Ivic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Barack Miller! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller. Barack Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sloppy strikes from Miller. Those never looked like landing. Miller moves into the clinch successfully.
Miller wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ivic breaks from the clinch.
Miller pushes Ivic up against the cage in a clinch. Ivic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ivic throws a low kick but it's checked well by Miller. Miller throws a series of punches but Ivic avoids them all with ease. Ivic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miller tries to avoid it but Ivic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miller to the ground. Miller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miller is defended easily by Ivic. Miller shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ivic defends it nicely. Ivan Ivic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barack Miller.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller gets tackled into the cage by Ivic. Ivic maintains the clinch. Ivic has Miller pressed against the cage, preventing Miller from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A shot in the inside from Ivic. Miller wants to break the clinch but can't.
Miller should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ivic working some nice short punches in the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Miller's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ivic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Miller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Miller closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller is trying to break the clinch but Ivic is controlling him. Ivic manages to break the clinch.
A left and a right from Miller both land. Nice combination. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ivic swings widly with a right hand
and Miller counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Miller wants to control but Ivic is keeping him busy. Ivic tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg. Miller is looking for a kimura but Ivic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miller to get the leverage. Miller wants to free his trapped foot but Ivic is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ivic is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Miller lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Miller forces Ivic back against the cage and clinches. Ivic prevents the takedown attempt.
Ivic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ivic wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance. Miller closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Miller is trying to pull guard but Ivic turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ivic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Miller gets in close and instigates a clinch. Miller manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller trying to control the position here. Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Miller is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Ivic has closed the distance and engaged Miller in a clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ivic manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Barack Miller dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Miller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ivic's guard. Ivic is working an open guard so Miller takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Miller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Miller has eaten all the pies! Miller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ivic, pushing him back against the cage. Miller tries to break the clinch but Ivic is controlling the position. Ivic lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Miller backwards. Ivic keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Miller's efforts to push away. Miller tries to circle away but Ivic has him pinned against the cage. Ivic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ivic tried to score with a low kick but Miller checks it. Ivic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miller moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller clinches up against the cage. Ivic breaks from the clinch.
Miller dives in and grabs Ivic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ivic pushes down on Miller's head and hops out. Miller shoots in looking for a takedown. Ivic tries to sprawl out of it but Miller keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ivic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Ivic finds it's way through Miller's defenses. Some wild striking there from Miller.
Ivic closes the distance and clinches. Ivic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller darts in and clinches Ivic up against the cage. Ivic manages to break the clinch.

Ivic is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Barack Miller seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Ivic looking to throw knees to the head but Miller is blocking nicely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ivic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miller takes the fight into the clinch. Ivic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Miller gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Miller is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Miller can't break the clinch.

Miller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ivic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ivic on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ivic tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ivic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Miller. Ivic wants to improve his position but Miller is controlling well.
Ivic is in trouble now - Miller has advanced to mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller wants to control the pace but Ivic is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barack Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Miller thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Miller is looking to stand up but Ivic won't let him. Miller passes into half guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Ivic is looking to clinch but Miller is avoiding it.
Ivic throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Miller closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ivic circles away. Ivic tries to clinch up but Miller circles away and keeps his distance. Ivic misses with a lunging right hand
and Miller counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miller wants to control from the top but Ivic keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ivic is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ivic has escaped and now he's on top! Ivic has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Miller looking to control.
Ivic wants to stand but Miller is controlling his posture from full guard. Ivic is fighting to break Miller's control of his arms but Miller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Barack Miller has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Ivic leaves Miller with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ivan Ivic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barack Miller. Ivic shoots for a takedown but Miller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Barack Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Miller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
