The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simpson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Da Guia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simpson somewhat. Da Guia wants to clinch. Da Guia tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Simpson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Da Guia sprawls well. Da Guia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Simpson gets slowly back to his feet. Da Guia tries to clinch up.
