Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Nicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tinu Lubana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicks comes to the cage accompanied by You Suck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicks ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nicks looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lubana!
Lubana tries to lock up and control but Nicks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nicks with a couple of short strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lubana is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Nicks fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nicks goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lubana turns into him and now he's in Nicks's guard.
Nicks scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lubana swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Nicks has control of Lubana's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lubana regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Nicks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nicks is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lubana is not content to let Nicks control the position.
Nicks decides to stand up.
Lubana is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nicks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nicks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lubana.
Nicks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lubana to the ground. Nicks is now in Lubana's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lubana is looking for a triangle but Nicks pushes his legs off easily.

Nicks's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Nicks's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Nicks has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lubana will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Lubana wants to clinch up but Nicks keeps it at a distance.

Nicks shoots in and drives through. Lubana sprawls well.
Nicks moves into the clinch.
Nicks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lubana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lubana has Nicks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nicks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lubana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nicks scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Nicks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lubana, who protects the arm well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Nicks connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lubana some visible discomfort.

Lubana looks to move to half guard but instead Nicks has passed into mount! Damn!
Nicks looking to secure an arm triangle but Lubana defends it well.

Nicks fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Nicks gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

A nice leg kick lands there from Lubana.
Nicks forces Lubana back against the cage and clinches.
Nicks gets control of Lubana's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nicks will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Nicks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nicks is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lubana has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nicks is working away from the top position though.
