Grace looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sam LaFleur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Grace. No joy for LaFleur on that attempt.
LaFleur stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and LaFleur wants it to stay on the feet.

Grace leaves LaFleur with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Grace tries to close the distance and clinch but LaFleur swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
LaFleur closes the distance and clinches up with Grace, looking for a takedown. LaFleur pushes Grace against the cage but Grace circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Grace shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as LaFleur sprawls well. LaFleur wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grace gets slowly back to his feet.

LaFleur has picked Grace up - he's going for a ride! LaFleur dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Grace is looking to escape.
Amazing Grace has got the better of the ground game so far.
Grace is breathing heavily.
LaFleur looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Grace tries to get to full guard but LaFleur has control of the leg.
LaFleur trying to control the action but Grace is working from the bottom.
LaFleur uses his free foot to push down on Grace's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Grace.

LaFleur working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
LaFleur is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Grace has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Grace defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from LaFleur.
LaFleur will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Grace is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Grace is looking to get to half guard.
LaFleur stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
LaFleur closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - LaFleur lands in his opponent's guard.
LaFleur pushes down on Grace's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Grace tries to roll over but LaFleur keeps him under control.
LaFleur tries to pass to full mount but Grace defends it.

LaFleur is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
LaFleur decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
LaFleur shoots for a takedown but Grace saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Grace goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grace circles away from the clinch attempt.

Grace is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. LaFleur sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Grace has no choice but to tap and LaFleur jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
