The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timler wants to clinch.

Jon Timler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
You Jr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Timler did well to prevent You Jr getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You Jr is trying to drag Timler to the mat but Timler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Timler tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
You Jr tries a body shot but Timler blocks it.
Timler using the Thai plumb to throw knees but You Jr has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
You Jr is trying to pull guard but Timler turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That's time! Timler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
You Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Timler gets caught flat footed, as You Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Timler is looking to stand up but You Jr isn't so interested in that idea.
Timler has his feet on You Jr's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Timler tries to clinch but You Jr moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

You Jr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Timler's half guard.
You Jr wants to advance to full mount but Timler doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
You Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

You Jr throws an elbow that misses. Timler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in You Jr's guard. Nice move by Timler!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

You Jr is trying to hold Timler in close to prevent damage but Timler has managed to pass into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if You Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You Jr is looking for a sweep.
You Jr is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
You Jr trying his best to control but Timler has mounted him.
You Jr can't escape the position.

Damn You Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Timler tries to clinch but fails miserably
so You Jr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Timler is looking to stand up but You Jr isn't so interested in that idea.
You Jr gets to his feet. Timler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fight stays on the outside here - Timler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A jab from You Jr finds it's way through Timler's defenses.

You Jr drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You Jr drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Timler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now You Jr has Timler in his guard.

Timler wants to get up but he can't break You Jr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
You Jr controls Timler momentarily but Timler frees himself.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Timler is standing up over You Jr. You Jr looks to escape but Timler dives into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You Jr is trying to work for a sweep but Timler has mounted him!
You Jr wants to control but Timler is having none of it.

You Jr is in all sorts of trouble here.
You Jr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Timler wants to get back to his feet but You Jr is holding on tight.
Timler avoids the attempt from You Jr to control.

Damn You Jr has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Timler tries to clinch up but You Jr circles away and keeps his distance.
Timler is looking to clinch but You Jr is avoiding it.
You Jr scores a takedown into full mount!
You Jr takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
You Jr throws some wild stikes that Timler manages to avoid easily.
