The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Esch.
Luiz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Esch.
Luiz wants to clinch.
Esch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thiago Luiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Esch.
Esch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck for Esch with that takedown attempt.
Luiz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Luiz doesn't manage to clinch there - Esch circles away.
Luiz tries to clinch but Esch is having none of it.
Esch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Esch tries a head kick but it misses.
Luiz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Esch looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Esch swats away the attempt to clinch by Luiz.
Luiz moves in looking to clinch but Esch pushes him off.
Luiz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Esch swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A jab-cross combination lands for Luiz and sends Esch crashing to the mat! Luiz follows him down to the mat - Esch regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Esch is rocked!

That has opened up Brandon Esch's cut even more.

Luiz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Esch tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Luiz!
