Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daren Coulter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincent Valentine!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Valentine.
Coulter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Coulter throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Valentine to regain full guard.
Coulter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Coulter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valentine on the ground.
Coulter trying to control but Valentine is working from the bottom.
Coulter is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Valentine wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Coulter postures up.
We're going to have a standup here because Daren Coulter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Valentine moves out of range of the body kick.
Valentine throws a series of strikes that have Coulter backpedaling.
Valentine lands a two punch combo.
Valentine misses with a double jab.
Coulter takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Coulter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valentine is trying to control Coulter's posture but Coulter avoids it.
Valentine is looking for a sweep.
Valentine can't do much from the bottom here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valentine sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Valentine is controlling Coulter's trapped leg to prevent Coulter from advancing to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Vincent Valentine was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Valentine fails to land with a series of punches.
Valentine wants to clinch up but Coulter keeps it at a distance.
Coulter takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Coulter rushes Valentine and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Coulter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Valentine throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coulter's waist but Coulter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valentine off to one side.
Left hook, right uppercut from Valentine.
Coulter doesn't manage to clinch there - Valentine circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Valentine misses with a series of wild punches.
Coulter has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Valentine looks to land a combination. Coulter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Valentine lands a jab-cross combination.
Coulter is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Valentine pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Coulter back to the cage. Valentine follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Oh Coulter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Coulter is looking to clinch but Valentine is avoiding it.
Valentine is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Coulter like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Coulter from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincent Valentine!
